- dnhinfotechhkrCopper ContributorAfter upgrading Windows 11, very first thing I have created 'Restore Point' manually and today when I have faced this issue 'Taskbar' Not working (even not able to open 'This Pc' and unable to Refresh) restored my Pc with manually created restore point, now everything is working fine.

AccurateIsaiah same issue here is what i did to fix it.
1. Removed my enterprise AV (comes from the GPO)
2. Ran updates on Windows 11 Pro test bed.
3. Got and installed the following updates.
4. Reinstalled the AV and other LOB apps.
5. Rebooted.
Works ok.
- AnrepanditCopper ContributorHello Sir. If u have issue here in start button not working, u can check this last comment in this thread.
"The following helped me:
Uninstall update KB5004300. Restart, Win 11 taskbar is present, but still in Win 10 style. Update now and install KB5004300. Then everything works:grinning_face:
Greetings from Germany"
And its really works at least for me and those who replies to this thread. I think u should check that

I had the same problem as yours.
But in my case, previously, It had happened when my PC automatically was forced to reinstall Win 11 again. After that, I sent the feedback via Feedback Hub and now, I have just gotten a new update version of Win 11 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 (10.0.22000.120) (KB5005188). So, this error does not exist anymore.
Hoping that my information helps you!- CodingwithShellCopper Contributor
I downloaded Windows 11 recently and I have been having all sorts of issues now as well. Everything people are complaining about in these forums I have been experiencing myself. This is horrible.
- TuanPhanCopper ContributorSame!
- MahmoodsyCopper Contributor01.08 and still have the same problem with an extra thing not working. I can't click on the network button. No supposed solution is working...

At least one other person mentioned installing Windows 11, reverting to Windows 10, then reinstalling 11. This is exactly my situation. I installed the first dev build, uninstalled it, and am now trying .100
I noticed that when I booted into 11 this time, it didn't run the OOBE at all. I have my start menu locked to the left side, and I noticed that in taskbar personalization the alignment option is completely missing.
I did however note that enabling then logging in with the local Administrator account, OOBE runs.. and the start menu and all proper taskbar settings are where they should be.
I'm testing, but I'm using a gaming machine... I don't really want to have to reset my user account if I can help it, but that might be the fix.

Still not working for me either. It seems to be a bigger issue than originally thought. I cannot run the start button, the search button, nor the Microsoft Store.

I am having the same problem with no search solution. Then downloaded Open Shell.exe from https://www.techspot.com/downloads/7103-open-shell.html and run C:\Program Files\Open-Shell\Start Menu Settings,, choose any 1 of 3 style.. Windos7 Style. At least relief for now.

Hey guys, I haven't found the solution to this problem, but there is a workaround by installing third-party launchers.
Press cmd + R then type powershell, then enter winget install powertoys. Then launch powertoys. This is the search bar tool released by Microsoft last year, which is similar to Spotlight search on a Mac.
Alternatively, you can download Listary, which is another search-based launcher. I tried both and they work fine on my Windows 11 machine. Peace!
