Yes, customizability should always be an option for the users.

- PotnoodleCopper ContributorHave they still not changed it!!!.... This needs more steam. I think Im gonna go back to W10...this W11 is BS
- Corey1975Copper ContributorI do not understand how this can continue to go unfixed. By this point millions of users are being impacted by this significant loss of productivity. It is bad enough that Windows 11 was rolled out without this problem being identified - but to now wait for the better part of a year and not have it fixed is not excusable.
- opalsetBrass ContributorWhy on earth did you not allow ungroup items on the taskbar - please put this back it currently hell on earth and kills productivity - grrrr

This is a very significant problem, being unable to group icons. It creates a bottle-neck, where each time you need to switch to another document, you go down to the icon and select which one of the grouped documents you wish to review. this is complicated with only 3 documents. This is very cumbersome with 10 grouped documents. But, this is physically impossible to keep track of when you are interacting with a couple dozen or more documents that are grouped. Said another way: there are many tasks that could be done in the normal course of using windows 10, and other versions of windows, that simply can no longer be accomplished with Windows 11. For this reason, I would consider this mistake to be one of the leading Microsoft errors that I have seen over the last 10 years or so (even in comparison to many of the compounding productivity errors that have been implemented in recent years in Word, as an example, where multiple clicks or several menus are now required to do simple tasks that used to be accomplished with one click in a fraction of the time). Significant loss of productivity is not a viable trade-off with anything. opalset
- vedang444Copper ContributorI don't get what was wrong with the feature that it had to be 'removed'. In W10, you could select whether you want to use it or not, which was perfect for everyone. Now it's forced. This is bleeding efficiency and productivity. Please get the feature back!!

Users should be able to customize their experience, including placing the taskbar in the optimal location for their work habits.

Carole66 I agree, Windows 10 was much more user friendly and configurable.

PLEASE GIVE US CHOICE!! Just because Apple does it doesn't mean MSFT should too! Please stop trying to be a copycat and allow us to ungroup!

Agreed, we really need this feature back. Grouping the items on the taskbar is murder on productivity!
- cparedesCopper ContributorWhat idiot thought it was a good idea to take away the "UNGROUP" taskbar items? Now we have to hover and inspect the tiny font on the icons before selecting where we want to go. This is counterproductive - not a good move Microsoft! I have been a Microsoft Systems Engineer for 45 years and today after the upgrade to Windows 11 I am thinking it is time to move to Apple devices.
- DeletedUnfortunately, already new changes affect partially version ( 19043.1237 ) of Windows10.
The taskbar can be moved, but it becomes transparent after opening the application - it is left only as the icons themselves, it is more difficult to see them on a colored background without contrast - as it was before - this is a handicap for people with poor vision!- Deleted

I believe that you need to write on the forum about changes that are not beneficial to use
Windows11 !
I have a taskbar at the top of the screen on all computers - hidden-when you hover the cursor is visible, I do not understand why Win11 removed it?
ergonomically, the bar at the bottom of the screen is not comfortable and it does not suit me!
please write what you think!' - TheShaunSawSilver Contributor

- TheDuke725Copper ContributorOf course, I somehow don't have access to this link. Imagine if MS actually would have to deal with feedback [/sarcasm]

- DeletedYes thank you very much please such a notification, that's why this post!
- DeletedI find that the ability to customize the taskbar is great!
Missing this in Windows11 is strange – as a Microsoft community you have to report
errors in the development of Win11 - because that's how I judge!
Please write reviews on this topic - welcome!- TheoleeCopper ContributorThe Taskbar really needs to have the ability to ungroup, it slows things down having to look and pick which window in the group you want instead of just picking the one you want.
