The Insider build is stuck at 29591, and the 29595 update cannot be detected.

I went to Settings → Windows Update → Check for updates, hoping to detect and download version 29595, but it actually told me that I was already running the latest version and couldn't update to 29595.

Go to Settings > Windows Update and make sure the toggle for "Get the latest updates as soon as they're available" is turned On. This setting is designed for users who want to be among the first to receive gradual rollouts.

  • You are on build 29591, Windows Update reports the device is current, and the screenshot shows the “get latest updates” toggle enabled. Build 29595.1000 was released for the Canary 29500 Series, now labeled Experimental (Future Platforms), so it is offered only to devices enrolled in that flight.

Run winver to record the complete revision. Open Settings > Windows Update > Windows Insider Program and confirm Experimental (Future Platforms), the registered Insider account, and required diagnostic data are active. Confirm Windows is activated, restart, and check again. The July 20 Insider announcement listed no newer Future Platforms build, so the update toggle will not correct a channel or enrollment mismatch. Avoid forcing another channel through registry edits; changing from Future Platforms can require a clean installation. If the settings are correct and 29595 remains unavailable, submit Feedback Hub feedback with the screenshot, full build, channel, account type, and Windows Update logs.
