Snipping Tool New screenshot button not working: Windows 11 insider preview, build 25905
The Snipping tool's New button is not working for new screenshots. However, it works for new recording. I am on the Windows 11 insider preview, build 25905. It has happened before and I was able to fix it by changing some files associated with the app but could not fix it this time. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas that can help me fix it? thanks in advance

Windows + Shift + S (Snipping Tool)
Windows + Shift + S is a keyboard shortcut that allows you to capture a screenshot of any part of your screen. It is a useful feature that can help you save time and share information easily.
Press and hold Windows + Shift + S keys simultaneously until it becomes a dim overlay on your screen and a small toolbar at the top. You can choose one of the four options from the toolbar rectangular, freeform, window snip, or full screen. Now, click and drag your mouse to select the area you want to capture.

Hello Salman!
I wanted to express my gratitude for your valuable contribution. Your input has been incredibly helpful. However, I would like to clarify that the issue I am facing is specific to the 'New' button functionality in the snipping app. This button is only visible when manually opening the snipping app. When accessing the snipping app, various features are available, such as screen snipping, and screen recording. The problem arises when attempting to take a snip using the 'New' button. Unfortunately, the 'New' button is unresponsive on my system, rendering it impossible to capture screen with the 'New' button. Although I am aware of the shortcut method, my concern lies solely with the malfunctioning 'New' button when using the snipping tool.
Thank you once again for your assistance!- SalmanAhmedSteel ContributorDear kennedyUzo

Despite trying various troubleshooting steps such as resetting, repairing, uninstalling, reinstalling the snipping app, and even restarting my computer, the issue with the 'New' button not functioning persists. On the bright side, I appreciate SalmanAhmed's suggestion of using the shortcut method, which has proven to be a viable workaround.
The snipping app holds significant value for me, especially when I am engaged in app development and collaborating with my mentors and teachers. Its functionality plays a crucial role in facilitating efficient communication and sharing visual information. Therefore, resolving the 'New' button problem would greatly enhance my productivity and overall experience with the app. Any additional input will be greatly appreciated!- SalmanAhmedSteel Contributor
If the New button on your Snipping Tool is not working, you may have encountered a bug or a corrupted file in your system.
This can be fixed by running the System File Checker (SFC) tool to scan and repair any corrupted or missing system files.
To do this, open the Command Prompt as an administrator and type:
sfc /scannow
Press Enter, wait for the scan to complete, and then restart your computer.
I hope this helps you fix your snipping tool's New button issue. Please let me know if you have any questions or feedback. Thank you.
