My computer is all **bleep**ed up!! So many issues.
For the past few weeks I have been unable to install two updates. They are:
Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Insider Preview (10.0.22635.2771) (KB5032283)
2023-11 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11, version 23H2 for x64 (KB5032007)
It goes through the update process and just when it gets about done it say, "Opps. Something went wrong" and it undoes the updates. However, since tuesday I am now into a new problem. My start menu throws up a critical error and I can't use it or the search on the task bar. All my other programs on the task bar and on the desktop work fine. I ran the start menu trouble shooter and it said Powershell and one other program could not run for some reason. I took a picture of it but now don't seem to have that picture.
I can't go into the feedback hub because it is not on the task bar on in the task tray. that works fine as well. Although, I have notifications that I can't see when i click to view them by the time and date and it puts me into focused mode. I get to any settings by right clicking on my desktop and choosing display settings. I need help as this is a bit beyond my computer knowledge. I am in the windows insider preview channel. Below are my windows specs.
Edition Windows 11 Pro
Version 23H2
Installed on 5/12/2022
OS build 22635.2486
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22678.1000.0
- jjstewart1288Copper ContributorWanting to let everyone know that my title was a bit to be funny but also that i am having a critical issue with my computer that it is preventing me from using it for what I want to do a bit. I can't go to the feedback hub to post either because of this.
- Reza_AmeriSilver ContributorAre you using Windows Insider?
Do you have access to Task Manager?
Are you able to open msconfig?- jjstewart1288Copper Contributor
Yes. I'm in the preview channel. I spoke with Microsoft tech support for windows and they sent me here.
I can press control alt del and it opens the task manager and if I press windows logo and r it opens run which then I type in msconfig and that opens as well. It's just my task bar for notifications and the start menu and Taskbar search that dont seem to work that throws me the critical error message.
- Reza_AmeriSilver ContributorThank you for the clarification, in case you are able to open msconfig, the try performing Clean Boot and see if the problem persists?
