Microsoft Store and Windows Update issues

I am having issues downloading apps off the Microsoft Store and there are a few stuck Windows Updates

For the Microsoft Store: Any time I try to download any app, I receive the error "Something went wrong. We're aware of the issue and working to fix it. Try refreshing or come back later." and "Code: 0x80D03805"

For Windows Update: The following three updates are stuck on "Download & Install" where "Retry All" doesn't work

Security Intelligence Update for Microsoft Defender Antivirus - KB2267602 (Version 1.425.340.0) - Current Channel (Broad)
2025-03 Cumulative Update Preview for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11, version 24H2 for x64 (KB5054979)
2025-03 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11 Version 24H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5053656)

The above fixed the audio output recognition and the missing icons on the Start menu, but then I noticed the previously mentioned Windows Update and Microsoft Store problems I am trying to resolve now. I did an in-place repair using the Media Creation Tool which brought me from 26100.3476 back down to 26100.2033, but my problems still remain

I wanted to see if there is anything else I could try before having to clean install Windows - I would really like to avoid having to do a clean install if possible. Thank you

For the MS store and Windows Update issue I had the similar issues on my Win11 PC, however my KB5054979 update had recently installed successfully, amongst other updates. I removed RDP completely first via optional features. Then i went into Windows Update > "Uninstall Updates" chose KB5054979 to uninstall, and restarted my PC and now the store and updates are now working again.

Open Microsoft Store, go to the Library (click on the icon in the bottom left), and click on "Get updates" to ensure the Store itself is up to date.

I don't think you really read my posting.  I already received all of the updates and they were installed and the ones that "supposedly" addressed the RDP issues did not fix the problem.  I didn't have trouble downloading or installing the updates.  They came down fine and were installed, but the intermittent RDP connection problems still exist.  I'm trying to RDP to another Win11 system on my home network.  Both machines hardwired ethernet, so it is not a wireless issue and no latency.  It just randomly disconnects.  Never used to be a problem until Microsoft "fixed it".

And when I run updates I do both Windows Update and the Store as well.

      Very frustrating.

Everyone seems to think that KB5053656 has fixed the RDP connection issues, but these connection issues are still happening after KB5053656 is installed.  How do I get this feedback to people who are celebrating this fix?

  • For specific updates, you can manually download and install them from the Microsoft Update Catalog. Go to the Microsoft Update Catalog, search for the KB numbers of your stuck updates, download the appropriate version, and install them.

I was able to go to the catalog and download KB5053656.  KB5053656 said it was replace by another one (KB5055523) dated more recently, so I installed that.   We will see.

No luck with this either.  The random RDP disconnects are still happening.  They are still not fixed
