Install Issue - Windows 11 Insider Preview 10.0.26120.2705 (ge_release_upr)

I joined windows insider, and before I start I wanted to note originally only wanted to be in the beta, not the DEV or CANARY builds as I am a beginner.    However, at this moment in time, the ...

To resolve your issues with the Windows Insider Program and ensure you’re on the Beta channel, follow these steps:

  1. Switch to the Beta Channel:
    • Go to Settings > Windows Update > Windows Insider Program.
    • Under "Choose your Insider settings," select Beta Channel.
    • This will prevent DEV or CANARY builds from downloading.
  2. Clear the Failed Update:
    • Open Settings > Windows Update, and click Pause updates to stop the failed install temporarily.
    • Go to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download, delete all files, and restart your system. This clears the update cache.
  3. Reinstall Beta Build:
    • Once your system is ready, go back to Windows Update and check for updates. It should now pull the Beta build.
  4. Leave the Insider Program (Optional):
    • If issues persist, you can leave the Insider Program through Settings > Windows Insider Program, and opt to stay on a stable build by performing a clean install of Windows 11.
