How to let windows 11 "never combine taskbar buttons"?
- The November 2023 update added “never combined” mode on the taskbar for Windows 11. To find this feature, go to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Taskbar behaviors. Set Combine taskbar buttons and hide labels to Never. It also added a separate setting for turning this feature on for other taskbars when you use multiple monitors.

Microsoft suffers from an inherent feeling that Apple are better at user experience than them, and this continually leads them to strive to be evermore like Apple. I don't know where this lack of self confidence comes from but it's a real shame because from a UX perspective Windows used to be so great and now it just isn't. My big gripe with Apple has always been that fundamentally they are arrogant bastards who think they know better than their users. For the sort of users for whom that is correct, then Apple is indeed the way to go. For those of us who know what we're doing, that attitude is total anathema and we want something that puts us in the driving seat.
Microsoft, grow some balls and stop copying Apple. Indeed if you went back to the UI from W95 or WNT, I couldn't be happier. - jimbobblesCopper ContributorI get that Microsoft are trying to simplify things because they're desperate to be more like Apple, but I'm not an Apple user - I like Windows because of the flexibility. Please bring this feature back. It's become so annoying, I have to click so many more times to do my work, and it's been too long to revert back to Windows 10 without a complete reinstall. Unhappy 😞
- jithinnathCopper Contributorwith the latest update also (8th march 2022) Microsoft idiots haven't brought back 'never combine' feature. its high time to roll back windows 10.

This has been on-going for so long.
this feature alone is the biggest reason I hate (YES HATE) windows 11.
fix this and I'd give W11 a chance- spookerCopper ContributorWhat are Microsoft engineers waiting for this feature to be re-released? You created a new OS and removed previous productivity features for what?

Agreed. If I have 4 excel files open I want to be able to quickly select the one I want vs having to click the excel icon then select the one...literally doubles the time required to switch. I can't think of a use case where the combine tabs makes sense, outside of pure cosmetics
- saedmadanatCopper ContributorBring it back please! this is so sad that someone thought it's a good idea to remove this option,
- asturcon3Copper ContributorMe!
Maybe 'allways combine' is ok for tablets, but hey, I have an ultrawide monitor, it's plain stupid having all the app icons to the left and then a huge empty space up to the clock area where the all-forced icons are. I only have one spot for the windows explorer, I have to hover the mouse, choose one in about ten open explorers... it's a pain, give me one icon for each window, with title so I can see the path of each.
Same with the Arduino IDE... hover to choose between the IDE, the serial log, the exception decoder...
And no, alt-tab doesn't help. It never does with 20+ open windows. - rmpassosCopper Contributorplease enable it back
