How to let windows 11 "never combine taskbar buttons"?
- Jul 30, 2024The November 2023 update added “never combined” mode on the taskbar for Windows 11. To find this feature, go to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Taskbar behaviors. Set Combine taskbar buttons and hide labels to Never. It also added a separate setting for turning this feature on for other taskbars when you use multiple monitors.

Me!
Maybe 'allways combine' is ok for tablets, but hey, I have an ultrawide monitor, it's plain stupid having all the app icons to the left and then a huge empty space up to the clock area where the all-forced icons are. I only have one spot for the windows explorer, I have to hover the mouse, choose one in about ten open explorers... it's a pain, give me one icon for each window, with title so I can see the path of each.
Same with the Arduino IDE... hover to choose between the IDE, the serial log, the exception decoder...
And no, alt-tab doesn't help. It never does with 20+ open windows.
