How do I change background color of image easily?
Okay, I feel like I'm taking crazy pills here. I have a simple image (just a product photo on a white background) and I need to make the background a different color. Every tutorial I google is either for Photoshop wizards or involves 15 steps with layers and masks. There's gotta be a simpler way, right?
I'm not doing anything fancy—no hair, no complex edges. Just a clean, solid background swap. What's the most straightforward method to change background color of image for a total non-designer?
Any help would be massively appreciated. My attempts so far just make the whole image look like I used a bucket tool in MS Paint (disaster). Point me to the simplest tool or step-by-step you know!

It's important to remember that stability can vary based on the specific build and hardware configuration. Keeping backups and being prepared for potential issues is always a good practice when running Insider builds.

Using PowerPoint to change the background color of an image on Windows is a quick and easy option, especially if you don't want to use dedicated image editing software. Here's how you can do it:
Steps to Change Background Color of Image in PowerPoint:

Open PowerPoint and create a new slide.
Go to Insert > Pictures and select your image.2. Remove the existing background:

PowerPoint will automatically try to identify the background. Use the Mark Areas to Keep and Mark Areas to Remove tools to refine the selection if needed.
When satisfied, click Keep Changes.3. Add a new background color:
Insert a shape (like a rectangle) that covers the entire slide or just the area behind your image.
Right-click on the shape, select Send to Back so it appears behind your image.
Change the shape's fill color to your desired background color via the Shape Fill option.4. Adjust the image and background:
Position the image and shape as needed.
You now have an image with a new background color.5. Save your image:
If you want only the image with the new background, right-click the image (or the shape) and select Save as Picture.
Save it in your preferred format (PNG recommended for transparency, but since you added a background, JPEG also works). - AmiriooimIron Contributor
