How can I transfer text messages from Samsung to computer Windows 11?
I recently encountered a problem and would like to ask you for help. I use a Samsung phone (Android OS) and now want to back up the text messages on my phone to my Windows 11 computer. I mainly want to save some important information to avoid losing my phone or data and not being able to find it back. But I don’t know how to do it, and I haven’t found a direct way. I wonder if anyone has had the same needs, or knows how to transfer text messages from Samsung phone to a computer in a simpler way? Thank you very much for your help!

I needed to back up texts from my Samsung phone to my PC and used DroidGeeker for it. Super straightforward: connect your phone, the app recognizes it, you pick the texts, and save them.
I followed this tutorial: (worked smoothly for me)

If you want to save SMS messages on your Samsung phone to your computer, using a cloud service is a very convenient way. For example, use Google Drive or Samsung Cloud to back up SMS messages directly on your phone, and then log in to the same account on your computer to access these SMS messages.
The specific steps are as follows:
- Find the cloud service in the phone settings: Most Samsung phones come with Samsung Cloud, and you can also use Google Drive.
- Choose to back up SMS: In the backup options of the cloud service, make sure SMS or Messages is selected, and then start backing up.
- Access on the computer: After the backup is completed, you can log in to your cloud account on any computer with an Internet connection to view the backed up SMS.
This method is not only simple, but also safe and reliable. It can also automatically transfer text messages from Samsung to computer, so you can handle your information anytime, anywhere. Just make sure your cloud service has enough space, and remember to clean up unnecessary backups regularly to keep your account tidy.

If you've got a ton of text messages you want to save, this approach can be tedious. You can only share one message at a time unless you select multiple messages. But even then, there's a limit on how many you can send in one go, which means you're doing a lot of back-and-forth with your email.

If you want to tranfser text messages from Samsung phone to Windows PC, using the Windows Your Phone app is a pretty straightforward option. I use this app to sync my phone content to my PC, especially SMS and photos. Here's a quick guide on how to use this app:
- Install the Your Phone app: On your Windows 11 PC, open the Microsoft Store, search for and install the "Your Phone" app. Most new versions of Windows have this app pre-installed.
- Set up the app: Open the Your Phone app, and you'll be guided to connect your phone. Following the instructions, you may need to download a pairing app on your phone, or use the integrated linking feature directly.
- Connect your phone to your PC: Log in to your phone with your Microsoft account as prompted in the app, and make sure your phone and PC are on the same Wi-Fi network. The app will guide you through the pairing process.
- Sync SMS: After pairing, the Your Phone app will automatically start syncing your phone's data, including SMS, notifications, photos, and more. In the Your Phone app on your PC, you'll see a SMS label that you can click to view and reply to SMS messages on your phone.
The benefit of using the Your Phone app is that it is very convenient. There is almost no need for any complicated settings. You can directly extend many functions of the phone to the computer through the Microsoft account. Especially for people who often need to process mobile phone information on the computer, it can greatly improve efficiency. However, the function of this app depends on a stable network connection. Sometimes if the network is not good, the synchronization may be delayed.
- AaliyahobCopper ContributorNot all Samsung phones or Windows 11 PC will work perfectly with the Your Phone app when you want to transfer messages from Samsung to Windows 11 PC. Sometimes, you might need a specific version of Android or Windows to make it all play nice. Depending on your device model and OS version, you might run into bugs or glitches that can be a real pain.

This approach doesn't require any additional software or complex setup. By simply forwarding the important text messages to email, you can easily access and store them on your computer. This method is particularly useful when you only need to save a few specific messages or conversations, and it allows you to keep a digital copy that can be accessed anytime from your email inbox.
Open your messaging app on the Samsung or Android phone. Select the text messages you want to transfer, then forward them to your email address. Open your email on your Windows 11 computer and download or copy the text messages from the email.

I once needed to save text messages from Android phone to my computer, and since I didn't want to install any additional apps, I used the old-school method of email. It's really easy to do, just select the messages in the SMS app on my phone and use the share function to send them directly to my email.
- Open the SMS app on your phone: Find the text message you want to save.
- Share to email: Long press the text message, select the "Share" option, and then select your email app.
- Send email: Send the text message as an email to your own email.
- Access email on your computer: Log in to your email and get the text message from your email.
When I got to the computer, I logged in to my email and the text messages were waiting for me in my email. I saved them to my computer so that if anything went wrong with my phone, these important messages would be backed up. This method is simple but very practical, especially for situations where you don't need to back up a lot of text messages frequently.
