For a new computer with a 2TB SSD running Windows 11, what is the recommended size for the C drive?
My new computer comes with a 2TB SSD that hasn’t been partitioned yet. A friend suggested reserving 150–300 GB for the C drive, but I used Windows 7 for eight years with only 50 GB allocated to the C drive and still had 20 GB left. Does Windows 11 really need that much space on the C drive? I’d appreciate some practical advice.

Microsoft recommends at least 64 GB of free space for Windows 11, but this is the minimum to install and run the OS. You’ll need more space for updates, system restore points, temporary files, and installed apps.
