Calendar events disappeared from taskbar in Windows 11 insider build
I am on the following windows build:
Edition Windows 11 Home Single Language
Version 21H2
Installed on 24/07/2021
OS build 22000.100
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 421.18901.0.3
In Windows 10, the taskbar calendar used to show events of the day. That has disappeared in Windows 11. Is there a way to enable this?

Same! It's non-sense to sync all work, school and personal events to one account, that doesn't make sense! Microsoft having built-in Mail and Calendar, AND an additional Outlook app is already very dumb. Please don't have us use a 3rd app (the Edge in this case) just to sort out our calendar events.
Plus that Widgets thing, with news and stuff, is distracting! Even tho I don't mind opening Edge, but can't we just have something that pops up, simply showing the calendar events and the calendar, convenient and simple, that's it! Don't try to draw our attention by forcing a bunch of feeds into our eyes. I would rather spend the storage space and my attention on something I like!
Please give us easier ways to downgrade to Windows10, or fix the calendar pls!
- NmasriCopper ContributorSame problem here, so frustrating even I regret the update to Windows11, all my meetings events disappear and I had to use the calendar widget, i hope that Windows team will fix this issue in the upcoming update the soonest

I downgraded my windows back to 10, if Windows wants people to use Win11 this type life improving things shouldn't go away
- Debbie_Faddis625Copper ContributorI don't have a problem. I just clicked the up arrow and now the whole month pops up. With the notifications on top, like it was in Win 10.
- melceeCopper ContributorWe can all see the calendar, we can't add new events to the calendar.
- Tam501eCopper ContributorIt's crazy because it's not even a bug, just a good feature being removed. Please MS bring it back asap !
- RauhbautzCopper ContributorYup, same here. Really a useless calendar now in the taskbar; the widget thing is not much better, rather leave widgets off. It is a pain going out to open outlook every time I need to use the calendar; why did Microsoft downgrade?
- Debbie_Faddis625Copper ContributorHey ... just click on the taskbar on the calendar and then click on the arrow up. Then your calendar will appear as a month all the time.
- SnidePebblesCopper Contributorso foolish they make you click a second time, like what other reason am I here for, Oh and look the vertical space is endless, bu we have to compress and click.

I have observed the best methodology is to type"Calendar" in the pursuit box, then, at that https://condolobby.com/, select "Pin to Taskbar". You would then be able to add/erase/peruse the schedule. In actuality, the main use for the schedule gadget on the most distant right of the taskbar is to see the current date and time (and day of the week on the off chance that you float over it). In any case, it is futile!

Debbie_Faddis625 If you throw a grenade it is not a good idea to stand where it lands.

I hated what they did, so my workaround was to go into my emails, select the calendar there and when it opens up, look at your taskbar and you will see the calendar icon. Right click and pin it to the taskbar.
Hope this helps.
- Jpeyton119Copper ContributorThis definitely helps, but I don't like how the calendar app looks when I open it up. The monthly vies shows my millions of daily tasks in red, and you can't just scroll through the list for the day like the calendar shortcut used to do. It gives me a headache the second I open it up and then I forget what I came there to do. Maybe I'll have to go back to using the Tasks app...

Hi kishorehari,
Thanks for your post.
I have the same issue and I'm a University student so all my events are on my Uni account which doesn't allow me to add my account to the outlook calendar widget (I will refrain myself from venting about the so called windows "widgets").
Anyway, I'm adding myself to this chain in the hope that when a solution is created someone will post about it.
Thanks
- SaywhaaatttCopper ContributorHi, just checking in to see if anyone has had an luck resolving this or coming up with a fix? I have my calendar app pinned but it's just not the same and seems EXTREMELY neglectful to add the most basic feature to the calendar on the task bar. It's not even "add" actually, it's just keeping it the same as it used to be, it makes no sense why they would REMOVE this function in the first place. I was really hoping that maybe there was just some setting option that I needed to enable because it seemed impossible that this function was actually removed...

Saywhaaattt I 100% agree, having to go somewhere else then just clicking on date/time in the bottom of my screens should produce the calendar and the timezones I have populated. This is NOT an upgrade - it's loss of functionality.
- ChrisRaisinCopper ContributorI have found the best approach is to type"Calendar" in the search box, then select "Pin to Taskbar". You can then add/delete/browse the calendar. In effect, the only use for the calendar widget on the far right of the taskbar is to see the current date and time (and day of the week if you hover over it). Otherwise, it is useless!

Thanks for this suggestion, it worked and all of my calendar events are there!
