Black screen after 1 minute at logon screen
It's a minor gripe but when the system boots to the login screen, if I don't bring up the login dialogue (ie hit Enter) within a minute, the screen goes black (turns off?) and I have to hit Enter to restore the screen.
It's clearly a timeout of some sort but the usual culprits like screensavers, sleep, hibernation, registry console timeout tweaks have been tried to no avail.
Anyone?

It sounds like your system's display is entering power-saving mode or a screen timeout setting. Since you’ve already tried the usual fixes, you can try adjusting the Display Power Settings in Windows. Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Change Plan Settings for your selected power plan, then modify the "Turn off display" setting to "Never." Additionally, make sure that Fast Startup is disabled by going to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do and unchecking "Turn on fast startup." This should stop the screen from turning off prematurely after the login screen timeout.
