Black screen after 1 minute at logon screen
It's a minor gripe but when the system boots to the login screen, if I don't bring up the login dialogue (ie hit Enter) within a minute, the screen goes black (turns off?) and I have to hit Enter to ...
It sounds like your system's display is entering power-saving mode or a screen timeout setting. Since you’ve already tried the usual fixes, you can try adjusting the Display Power Settings in Windows. Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Change Plan Settings for your selected power plan, then modify the "Turn off display" setting to "Never." Additionally, make sure that Fast Startup is disabled by going to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do and unchecking "Turn on fast startup." This should stop the screen from turning off prematurely after the login screen timeout.
