- goutam591Copper ContributorI am also facing the same issue, I am using HP pavilion 15-ec1024AX, and the laptop is only three month old, after installing window 11 battery backup has dropped down from 7hrs to 4hrs. Please fix this issue.
- curiouskidCopper ContributorDowngrade to Windows 10 ASAP!
- iBwoyCopper ContributorSame here, I have a new HP 15-ef2127wm that I bought a couple days ago, and battery gets from 100% to 0% in less than 1hr…
- ppuvvCopper ContributorHello everyone, I think I found a good solution. I couldn't roll back to windows 10 because my 14 days period was over before I realized the battery drain (as I mostly use mine plugged in). Here's the video that fixed my issue :

Hope it works for everyone!- curiouskidCopper ContributorRevert to Windows 10 ASAP!!!
- ppuvvCopper ContributorIt is the same issue for me too. Is there any fix in place? My XPS 17 used to get around 8 hours on battery. Now it is 2 hours and heats up and spins the fans like crazy

- boikonomCopper ContributorSame problem with Lenovo Yoga 13. Previously 7 hr, now merely half an hour. I do not want to roll back to W10 though, a fix should be issued.
- jashwanthCopper ContributorI use lenovo Idea pad3, After installing windows 11 my laptop's battery life is less than half before the update .
- Abhinand_9534Copper ContributorSame issue I have a Dell Inspiron 3505 new laptop 5month old only I used to get 4-5 hours before upgrade ..Now after upgrade only 3 hours .. Microsoft Please kindly fix this issue
- curiouskidCopper ContributorI also have the latest Dell Inspiron 15 5502 laptop which gives me 6-8 hours of battery backup. But after the update to Windows 11. I hardly got 1 to 2 hours of battery backup. I observed for a week and finally reverted back to Windows 10, everything seems fine now.

Hi,
I am using HP laptop recently got official update to Windows 11 and after the update the battery is draining faster hardly to get 2 hours backup which I got previously with a decent 4-5 hours backup, and first i run a troubleshooter with power and 2 minor issues found and rectified itself and even after that I am getting the same issue still the power backup is reduced 1-2 hours only with regular web browsing. and youtube watching
NOTE: everything is done on battery saver mode
so what should I do ? shall I rollback to Windows 10 ? or wait for updates to fix this issue in future ? Because I have only 2 days remaining to roll back thereafter i can't able to roll back easily.

Reverting back to Windows 10 is highly recommended. - akashradhakrishnanCopper Contributorroll back immediately while you have the opportunity, no one can say for sure when MSFT will fix the battery drain issue. If this is your primary computer then I think you should roll back immediately!

Everyone, I have reverted back to Windows 10 and the battery issue got fixed. Will stick with Windows 10 for now till the bugs get fixed with Windows 11.
PS: I suggest your revert back to Windows 10 as early as you start noticing weird bugs as after 10-14 days Microsoft will close the revert option. Then you might get stuck.
- JoaoGabrielValentimCopper ContributorThat's what I did recently! I went back to 10 and that's it! Sorted out! And look, it's 2022 and the problem persisted, my dell 3501 notebook only lasted 40 min, on 10 it corrected and it was up to 4 hours unplugged!
- Fishhead7Copper ContributorI had always thought Windows11 upgrade was somehow involved here, but I recently had done a cleanmgr and deleted the files required to back off the upgrade. Fortunately I believe I've corrected the issue with battery settings (see my earlier post today).

Hey there! I have a Dell Inspiron 5502 which automatically got updated to windows 11 on 8th September, 2021. After a week I noticed that my laptop which gave me around 6-12 hours of backup gave only 2 hours of backup, I feared that my battery must have got damaged or there must be a hardware issue, later i just reverted back to windows 10 and everything is normal now!
I'm so happy now because my laptop is now giving me 6 - 12 hours of battery backup.
The probable solution for you may be to just revert back to windows 10 ASAP!
Windows 11 has many bugs and issues to be fixed it is recommended to revert back to Windows 10.- Steve1860Copper Contributorhow to get on windows 10 back from windows 11 pls can u help me im stuck with windows 11
- Neo_PCopper Contributorfollow the steps I mentioned if your still stuck.
- Sammycool6Copper ContributorI have HP ELITEBOOK PRO WINDOWS 10 upgraded to 11 today, usually it's a OS with long hours of battery life duration and after upgrade I noticed sharp reduction in battery life. I guess Microsoft should do something about this issue. very quickly Meanwhile is ''Battery status for instance, X% available (Plugged in)'' a healthy performance while on AC? In essence, it's charging properly?
- curiouskidCopper ContributorI had the same issue.......I downgraded to windows 10 it fixed the problem.

Even I have the same issue, will revert back to Windows 10 for now. Battery is seriously compromised, I have a asus zenbook 14 (2020) edition, and was comfortably getting 8-9 Hours of battery life. Now its pathetic, like 1-2 hours.
- curiouskidCopper ContributorSame here too....Reverting back to Windows 10 fixed this issue for me.
