How can I delete a Cloud PC?
- Aug 20, 2021There is no delete unless you remove the user license. Based on what you describe it seem you want to redeploy a new Cloud PC for the same user, then the workflow to do that would be what we call "reprovision", this article explains. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-365/reprovision-cloud-pc
Hi,
In Windows 365 Enterprise, deleting the device object from Intune or removing the computer account from on-premises Active Directory does not delete the Cloud PC itself. Cloud PCs are managed through the Windows 365 service and their lifecycle is tied to the assigned license and provisioning policy.
If your goal is to start over with a fresh Cloud PC, the recommended action is Reprovision rather than deleting the device. According to Microsoft Learn, reprovisioning deletes the existing Cloud PC and automatically creates a new one using the current provisioning policy. All user data, applications, and customizations are removed during this process. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-365/enterprise/reprovision-cloud-pc
Steps to check and reprovision:
- Go to Microsoft Intune admin center → Devices → Windows 365 → All Cloud PCs.
- Select the affected Cloud PC.
- If the Cloud PC status is Provisioned or Failed, use the Reprovision action. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-365/enterprise/reprovision-cloud-pc
If the Delete option is unavailable, check whether the Cloud PC is still associated with:
- A valid Windows 365 license assignment.
- An active provisioning policy.
- A Cloud PC object that is stuck in a provisioning state.
Microsoft also documents a Deprovision remote action for Cloud PCs, which can be managed from Intune depending on the Cloud PC state and scenario. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-365/enterprise/remotely-manage-cloud-pc

Could you share the Cloud PC's current status (Provisioned, Failed, Grace Period, Provisioning Failed, etc.) and whether the Windows 365 license is still assigned to the user? That information will help determine the appropriate next step.
