Work Headset not playing sound but otherwise works

Having a sudden issue with my work headset, a USB Plantronics C3220.

It was working fine a few days ago but now it is not playing sound, despite the microphone and led lights on the in-wire controller working fine. I can mute and unmute the mic (and then the corresponding sounds WILL play through the headset) but no PC sounds. When I press test in the Windows sound settings nothing also plays.

    1. Check the headset connection: Make sure the headset is properly connected to the computer (USB, 3.5mm jack or Bluetooth).
Try re-plugging the headset or reconnecting Bluetooth.
    2. Check volume settings: Right click on the volume icon in the taskbar and select “Open Volume Mixer”.
Make sure the headphone volume is not muted and the volume setting is appropriate.
    3. Set the default playback device: Right-click the volume icon on the taskbar and select “Sound Settings”.
In the “Output” section, select headphones as the default playback device.
    4. Update the audio driver: Open “Device Manager” and expand “Audio Input and Output”.
Right-click on the headphone device and select “Update Driver”.
Visit the headphone manufacturer's official website to download and install the latest driver.
    5. Check the audio service: Press Win + R, type services.msc and enter.
Find the “Windows Audio” service and make sure its status is “Running”.
If it is not running, right-click on it and select “Start”.
    6. Disable Audio Enhancement: Right-click the volume icon on the taskbar and select “Sound Settings”.
In the “Output” section, click “Device Properties”.
Turn off the “Audio Enhancement” feature.
    7. Use Audio Troubleshooting: Open “Settings” > “System” > “Sound” > “Troubleshooting”. Run “Play Audio Troubleshooting”.
Run the Play Audio Troubleshooter and follow the instructions to fix the problem.
    8. Check the headset hardware: Try to connect the headset to other devices to check if it works properly.
If the headset doesn't play sound on other devices, it may be a hardware failure.
    9. Contact Microsoft: If the problem is still unresolved, submit the issue through Microsoft Support.
Provide a detailed error message and screenshots to quickly diagnose the problem
