Windows11 Open with dialog shows apps that are no longer installed on the system

When you right-click a file and select “Open with...,” the list of recommended apps may include programs that have long since been uninstalled. Even after restarting the system, these entries remain in the list.

This issue is more common with portable apps or older UWP apps.

You can temporarily remove these entries by cleaning the registry using regedit or by using a third-party tool, but they may reappear.
