Windows key unreadable

I purchased an oem windows 11 pro disc. It comes with this scratch off key. I started very gently like they said and scratched it for a good minute, nothing. I start a little harder still nothing. I get a penny and still a little harder, nothing. I start scratching with more force and all there is under it, is a pink color. I try contacting MS support and all I get is, people with the same issue but no answers.

I call MS and get told, whatever it is I'm speaking with, is they can't help me with my issue and to go back and do what I just did!!!! This is crazy, unbelievably bad, support from a company. I've purchased every single OS from them since MS Dos. Can't tell you how disappointed I am with their support! I'm trying everywhere I can, to get an answer to this, including this site.

Don't know if I bother some of you and I apologize for that; I'm at my wits end!!  If this doesn't work, I will try Newegg and see if I can exchange it for a new one. Then have them do the scratch off first before they send it. Of course I have to wait until Monday to speak with someone. So, my new build will wait until then!

Sorry and Thanks

Daniel

It’s really unfortunate you’re having this trouble—OEM keys should work smoothly if the scratch-off layer is intact. Your plan to exchange the product sounds like a good move, especially if you can verify the key’s readability first.
