Windows cover taskbar after changing monitor inputs.

I switch between monitor inputs on two identical windows 11 laptops. when I switch to one computer the first time, everything is fine. But when I switch back to the original laptop, any windows that are maximized will fully cover the taskbar. Even if I hover over where the taskbar should be, or enable/disable window full screen mode, it stays hidden. The only solution is to restart, or disable and then enable that monitor in the display settings every time.
