Windows 12 doesn't exist yet

Hi everyone,

There are discussions going on about Windows 12 and some websites even shared installation files and some leaks images and so on, I am posting this to make some clarifications:

  • Windows 12 doesn't exists: as of the date I am posting this message, there is no operating system called Windows 12 and the latest version of Windows is Windows 11. Everything you read about Windows 12 is rumor and unofficial.
  • Windows 12 installation files most likely are malware: Several users are looking for Windows 12 and this is a good way to attract users. There are number of downloads on the website claiming to be Windows 12 and either they have malware or they are pirate copy of Windows 11 and try to avoid using them and for the safety of other users report them to trusted party to remove them.

If there is going to be a new version of Windows like Windows 12, Microsoft will share official announcements and you may see announcement on Home | Windows Blog or Experience the Power of Windows 11 OS, Computers, & Apps | Microsoft.

I'm not really sure if i can get it even if it's released. My HP Prodesk doesn't meet the requirements and the new laptop i have meets. However, I don't really know the requirements, so... I think i have to bypass again and install it on my desktop VM since it has an 1TB HDD as an additional storage.

**Windows 12** is indeed a fascinating concept, but as of now, it remains a figment of our collective imagination. While we eagerly await the next iteration of Microsoft's operating system, let's ponder the possibilities:

For me, every new version of Windows is a few days of setup, and a waste of my precious time!

Correct but Windows Insider is also still Windows 11.
However, as you mentioned, when next version of Windows is on the way, it would be available in the Windows Insider (most likely).
