Windows 11 Touchscreen stops working with code 10 after waking up from sleep
Code 10 means Windows could not start the device; it does not by itself identify a defective touchscreen. Because disabling and re-enabling the I2C HID device restores touch, the useful next investigation is its driver and resume path, not another Fast Startup change. In Device Manager, record the failing device's driver provider, version, date, and Events entries immediately after waking. Check Windows Update's optional driver updates and Lenovo's support page for the exact 10IGL5 model, including whether Windows 11 is supported and whether updated chipset, touch, or firmware packages are offered. Use only packages intended for that model. If the issue began after a particular driver update, test Roll Back Driver when available. Keep the detachable keyboard available during testing. If no compatible update resolves it, give Lenovo the hardware ID, Windows build, and repeatable sleep sequence; the current evidence does not justify promising a registry fix.
