windows 11 thunderbolt 4 bug
RowboatSolo No response from MS at all.
They seem to be intent on pushing this USB 4 implementation and ignoring everyone’s concerns. I Raised this a very long time ago, over a year in fact.
I raised a case direct from Windows. I even proved that thunderbolt runs better data transfer on a usb boot windows 10 OS v windows 11 on a very expensive top of the range Dell when it was new. Benchmarks the lot.
I tried to hack the thunderbolt drivers on Win 11 but after rebooting it reverts back to USB4 Implementation.
Their ignorance of this thread is infinite.
This is a nightmare.
MS is a) basically forcing us to update (downgrade) to Win11, and b) attempting to ram USB4 down our throats - though it doesn't even get close to Thunderbolt III or IV transfer speeds..
AND Win11 appears to have no Thunderbolt IV implementation! My last attempt proved that much.
What's to be done? Go dual boot and run Mac OS under Win10 to get around Microsoft's astounding stupidity? Never put the machine online?
That's not even remotely feasible. The licensing software for several of my music production programs is internet dependent at intervals..

same issue here!!
thunderboolt not working after install Windows 11 H24- RowboatSoloOct 30, 2024Copper Contributor
Seems MS has ditched Thunderbolt support in favor or USB 4.
Which renders my investment in a well-provisioned Thunderbolt IV motherboard and thousands worth of Thunderbolt professional audio useless.
I built the computer and designed my studio rig around Thunderbolt capability.
Windows 11 Pro does not and will not identify Thunderbolt III devices nor will Win11 Pro instantiate my Intel thunderbolt drivers.
I am constantly under threat to upgrade my OS from Win10 Pro - which handles Thunderbolt - to Win11, which does NOT accommodate Thunderbolt!
Why is there no response from Microsoft on this issue?

Just to be clear, I don't think that the issue is related to Microsoft. I own a Surface 10 Pro enterprise running windows 11 and TB4 work perfectly. I dont have any issue on 2 desktop with Asus motherboard and windows 11. All this devices have TB4 driver package available. My issue is with a Dell XPS 15 where Dell doenst provide any driver package for the TB4 controller ans it's still not working 2 years after the purchase date. All I get from Dell is that the Issue came from Microsoft but I can confirm that all other device I own are working fine. (I'm alose using a Lenovo x13 Yoga @job ans TB4 works fine with windows 11)
