Windows 11 location services
Hi,
I'm having a weird issue with Google Maps location, and I can't figure out what's causing it.
Google Maps keeps showing me in the wrong location, even in a completely different province in Canada. It's always the same house location in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I've never been to that location, I don't use a VPN, and it doesn't matter which internet connection I'm using.
I've tested it in Edge, Chrome, Brave, and even Incognito mode, and the result is always the same.
Here's what I've already tried:
- Cleared browser cache and data.
- Turned Location Services off, waited, then turned them back on.
- Restarted the Windows Geolocation Service.
- Installed all Windows updates.
- Searched this forum and tried the suggested fixes, but nothing has worked.
What's strange is that when I check my location using iplocation.net, it correctly shows my city and province. The issue only seems to happen with Google Maps.
I know a clean OS reinstall might fix it, but I'd rather understand what's actually causing the problem instead of rebuilding the system.
Has anyone experienced something similar or found a solution? Any ideas on why Google Maps would consistently place me at the exact same house in Edmonton?

Hi SW-MTS, because this happens across multiple browsers and networks, it sounds like either IP geolocation or nearby Wi-Fi location data is wrong. I would test once using a phone hotspot with Wi-Fi disabled on the PC, then test again on your normal connection. Also clear Google Maps location permissions and check Windows location settings.
I've completed all of those steps. I also noticed that when I enable "Adjust for daylight saving time automatically," the time zone always switches to Mountain Time instead of Pacific Time.
