Windows 11 Laptop Fan Loud at 0% CPU Why?
My Windows 11 laptop fan is spinning full speed and loud, but CPU usage is 0–5%. No heavy apps just idle.
Hi Eorku, low CPU usage does not always mean the laptop has no heat event. Fans can react to GPU temperature, SSD temperature, battery charging, firmware sensors, dust, or a short background task that Task Manager misses. First switch the power mode to Balanced or Best power efficiency, then check temperatures using the laptop manufacturer's utility if available. Update BIOS, chipset, graphics, and thermal management drivers from the manufacturer. Also do a full shutdown instead of only Restart. If temperatures are normal but the fan stays at full speed, run hardware diagnostics because the fan controller or sensor may be the issue.
