Thank you for taking the time to reply.

I posted the same issue on Microsoft Q&A as well, and the conclusion there was also that this is a bug. I have submitted a detailed report through Feedback Hub.

I sincerely hope that a Microsoft engineer will come across this thread and help resolve the issue.
