As far as I am aware there is no reliable fix yet. The Beta version of 11 works only intermittently for some reason. I have resorted to backing up all my files to my laptop (which still runs under 10) locating files on the laptop so that I can find them on the desktop. Clunky I know. Agree it's a real nuisance.

AlbertRG that's interesting that you are having problems with the beta version and searching. as far as I can tell my beta indexes fine, with no issues, and I use this feature all the time. Of course, if it were missing results I might not know.
Shame on Microsoft for not only creating this problem but for refusing to even acknowledge that it exists
- AlbertRGJun 09, 2022Brass ContributorMicrosoft did their best to help me when I contacted them and helped me load the beta version.
I think they are just as bemused as we are when this problem arises.- MiloInSanDiegoCAJun 13, 2022Brass ContributorFor now, I am finding what I need using the frée DocFetcher (after looking at many tools). Whenever 11 forces me to do an update, I try it, but so far, no improvement. I'm not going to live in a Beta world to fix this because heaven knows what else that'll let loose. Those Beta changes will eventually be in a required updates. Til then, DocFetcher is doing the trick with just one extra step. And it tells me that there's nothing wrong with my data or DocFetcher wouldn't find it either.
