Win11 Laptop enters Connected Standby instead of Sleep when closing the lid

When you close the laptop lid, the device enters a networked standby state rather than the traditional sleep state, which means the battery continues to drain even when the device is idle. The device is not completely shut down, and network traffic may remain active during standby.

Setting the power button to sleep mode does not change this behavior. You can verify this by running the powercfg /a command; the system supports standby mode but does not support the traditional S3 sleep mode.
