Why there are many apps icon my new laptop?
I bought a new laptop and once I got into the desktop, there are a bunch of app icons on the desktop. Is there any way to hide them?
- You can create a folder on the desktop and move the icons into that folder. Right-click on the desktop, select New > Folder, name it, and then drag and drop the icons you want to keep but not display directly on the desktop into this folder.
- BenwingsBrass ContributorNo worries. There are legit apps. You can uninstall them as you want.
- EliasyuerCopper ContributorUse the Taskbar:
Right-click on the Taskbar and select Taskbar settings.
In the Taskbar settings window, toggle off the switch next to each app icon you don't want to see. - ConthiaCopper ContributorMost laptops come with pre-installed applications from the manufacturer or Windows itself. Things like trial versions of antivirus software, office apps, or media players can all clutter up your desktop.
- Nobel_BaynesIron ContributorThey are stock apps installed by the OEM. Don't worry as they are quite safe!
- GeorgeDedoCopper ContributorSometimes, simply restarting Windows Explorer can resolve issues:
1.Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
2. Scroll down to find Windows Explorer, right-click it, and select Restart. - RewainaCopper ContributorYou can create a folder on the desktop and move the icons into that folder.
