Why edge opens so many tabs on Windows 11?
Is there a way to prevent Edge from opening so many tabs that are not the user's browsing experience? What are these tabs for? Does this only happen on Windows 11? Is there a setting to improve PC consumption without these services appearing automatically?

Edge often runs several background processes, which can include things like updates, syncing, or even preloading pages. Sometimes these processes may lead to new tabs opening unexpectedly.

1. Browser settings adjustment
Disable session resume
Edge Settings → System → Disable “Resume tabs on exit”.
Clear Startup Page
Edge Settings → On Startup → Select “Open New Tab”.
Manage Extensions
Type edge://extensions/ → Disable non-essential extensions → Restart the browser.
2. Troubleshooting
New user account test
Create a new local account → Test Edge after switching → If normal, the original account needs to be reset.
Scan for malware with Windows Security Full Disk Scan → Eliminate virus interference.
