For many, one "missing" feature from earlier versions of Windows — especially Windows 10 — is the folder icon previews (sometimes called "folder thumbnails" or "folder icon previews" in File Explorer). This feature allowed you to see a small preview or thumbnail of the folder's contents directly on the folder icon in File Explorer, making it faster to identify project or work folders at a glance without opening them.
