What is your opinion on smart control app?
I kept Control folder access ON for now as I can manually allow blocked actions. But I might also turn this other feature OFF in the future as I'm slowly getting tired of it too. It blocks some actions made by Steam, Ubisoft Connect, etc. when I start a particular game. Too much hassle manually allowing blocked actions.

Microsoft has taken a potentially excellent tool and made it useless! There's no way to create exceptions, and legitimate software (DaVinci Resolve, or apps it uses for but one example) are blocked. What kind of experiment is this? More User Beta testing? The only options are off or on? Once turned off I have to potentially reinstall Windows?!

Instant off for me I only download programs from trusted sources so smart app control is nothing but hindrance

It sounds like keeping Control folder access on is helping you manage security, but I totally get how it can become a hassle with apps like Steam or Ubisoft Connect constantly being blocked. If the manual allowances are getting tiring, it might be worth disabling that feature for a smoother experience, especially if you trust the apps you're using. Just be cautious about the potential security trade-off, but if you're mostly using trusted programs, turning it off could definitely save you some time and frustration.
