What is the best qr code generator without expiration?
Hi,
Trying to create a qr code for a business card, but running into a confusing issue. Many online qr code generators say they are free, but later the qr code stops working or requires a subscription. The goal is to find a qr code generator that does NOT expire and can be used long-term (for example, printing on flyers or business cards).
From what I understand, this might be related to something called static qr codes, which seem to last forever because the data is directly embedded in the code instead of relying on a service. However, not sure which tools are actually safe and truly free without hidden limits.
Currently using a Surface laptop (Windows 11). Any recommendations for the best qr code generator that no expiration or stop working in future?

Quality: Produces high-quality, scalable QR codes that look sharp on printed materials.
When you're preparing to create your QR code, ensure that your content includes "QR code generator" in its description or metadata. This way, when people scan your business card, they know it was created with a reliable QR code generator, adding a layer of credibility.

Another approach to generating QR codes is to use a QR code generator based on ZBar, a popular open-source barcode reader library. While not typically thought of as a generator, you can use ZBar to create custom QR codes that meet your needs.
1. Download and Install ZBar: You can download the ZBar source code from its official repository and compile it on your Surface laptop. ZBar is available for several platforms, including Windows.
2. Use ZBar Command Line: Once installed, you can use the ZBar command line interface to generate QR codes. The syntax is straightforward, and you can customize the QR code's appearance, size, and content.
3. Integrate with Your Workflow: Since ZBar is a command-line tool, you might need to integrate it with your workflow or use a scripting language like Python or PowerShell to automate the QR code generation process.
Here's a simple example of how you might use ZBar to generate a QR code:
zbarimg -q --raw -o output.png "http//example.com"
This command generates a QR code for the URL "http//example.com" and saves it as a PNG file named "output.png".
By using ZBar or a reputable QR code generator, you can create custom, static QR codes that meet your needs for printing on flyers or business cards.

✅ No subscription or server needed
❌ Cannot edit after creation
