What is the best AI tool for restoring old photos?
Had a similar situation, scanned a bunch of old family photos and some came out pretty rough. Faded colors, scratches, one had water damage.
I tried a few different tools and the one I kept going back to was bestphoto.ai. It's free for the basic restore and you don't need to sign up or anything, just
upload and it does its thing. Worked right in the browser on my laptop. The nice part is if the result looks off you can try a different AI model on the same photo,
sometimes one handles scratches better than another.
One thing I'd say is make sure you scan at a decent resolution (600 DPI if you can). I started with phone photos and the AI didn't have much to work with. Way
better results once I used an actual scanner.
For really bad damage don't expect miracles though, the AI kind of guesses what should be there. But for fading and scratches it worked great.
