Changing drive labels: on Windows 11, you can assign custom labels to each drive displayed in File Explorer. This helps to quickly identify storage. You can change the drive labels through File Explorer or the Properties settings page.
Changing the drive letter: If you find that the drive letter is incorrect or missing, you can try changing or renaming the drive letter. This can be done through various methods such as Command Prompt, Disk Management, PowerShell or Registry Editor.
Check system settings: Make sure that Windows 11's File Explorer settings are correct. For example, make sure that file extensions have been displayed correctly, which helps to more clearly identify file types and paths.

There is something wrong with the disk. Make a backup first and run a scan to fix the potential issue.

If you have a file or folder name containing Unicode characters, such as accents, umlauts, or non-ASCII characters, it may be displayed incorrectly in Windows Explorer. This can lead to a weird drive path name.

It is a dangerous sign. Backup the data first. After that, check the health with disk tool and format it later.

When you map a network location to a drive letter, the path may include the network address or share name, which can look different compared to a local drive. For example: \\SERVER\SharedFolder might show up as Z:\SharedFolder.

Sometimes, external drives or partitions might get incorrectly assigned paths:

    1. Right-click on the Start button and select Disk Management.
    2. Look at the list of drives and see if any drives have conflicting letters or unusual names.
    3. If you find any anomalies, you can right-click on the drive and select Change Drive Letter and Paths to assign a more conventional letter.

Sometimes, strange drive paths can be associated with hidden or recovery partitions. Use Disk Management to inspect all partitions on your drives.
