Unable to get HP laptop microphone to work

I recently have not been able to get my HP Laptop microphone to work. This is the case when I am using Zoom, and also when using WhatsApp on my Laptop. I have the latest Realtek drivers, but even when doing the microphone test on Zoom, it gives me the following message: Failed to detect your microphone.
