The Recommended section in the Start menu appears blank
Your Start setting is enabled, but Recommended shows “Coming Soon” instead of recent files, pointing to the recommendation provider or a staged Windows change rather than missing documents. Open Settings > Personalization > Start, turn Show recently opened items off, restart Windows, then turn it on again. Confirm the other recommendation providers are not all disabled, because current Start versions change sections when every provider is off. Install pending Windows updates and restart. Next open Task Manager, select Windows Explorer, and choose Restart. Test by opening two local documents from different folders, closing them, and reopening Start. If those files appear in File Explorer’s recent area but Start remains blank, do not delete or reset your profile solely for this issue. Record the Windows edition, build, update date, and screenshot in Feedback Hub under Desktop Environment > Start menu. A controlled rollout cannot be manually enabled through a supported setting
