Some software on Windows 11 opens the first time, but doesn't respond when double-clicked afterward
Because three programs launch once and later fail silently—even after reinstalling Windows—the next step is to capture what happens at launch, not reinstall again. Restart the PC, open Task Manager, end any process for one affected app, then launch its executable once. Check Event Viewer > Windows Logs > Application at that timestamp for Application Error or Windows Error Reporting entries; record the application, faulting module, exception code, and event ID. Install Windows updates and the publisher-supported version of each app. For Store apps, use Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Advanced options > Repair, then Reset if Repair fails. Perform a clean boot and retest one app; if it opens there, re-enable services and startup items in groups to identify the conflict. Run a Windows Security scan. If clean boot also fails, share the program names, installers, event details, and whether a new local account can launch them.
