Slow/unusable PC before Windows update application.

Have you ever encountered cases of PCs becoming extremely slow (to the point of being unusable) until a reboot was done to apply a Windows update?

I encountered a few cases including 2 on the same PC. On this PC, I noticed that the CPU seemed to be throttling before applying the update.
