Should I Upgrade to Windows 11 24H2 from 23H2
- Aug 15, 2025
When I upgraded from 23H2 to 24H2, I was a bit hesitant after hearing some mixed feedback, but I decided to give WinUpgradeMate a try. Honestly, it was super easy—no complicated steps, and the upgrade went smoothly without any issues. It was a huge relief, and I didn't run into any of the problems I had expected!
I followed this tutorial (worked like a charm)

Upgrading to Windows 11 24H2 from 23H2 is supposed to be a pretty straightforward process:
- Open Settings: Click the Start menu, then click the gear icon to open Settings. Or you can just click Windows + I.
- Update & Security: Click Windows Update on the left. From there, just click the "Check for Updates" button. If your computer is ready, Windows should automatically show you the option to upgrade to 24H2.
- Follow the prompts: If you see this option, click it, and then follow the prompts. The upgrade process will begin downloading and installing. Just sit back and relax (or eat a few snacks) while he does his thing.
If for some reason the update doesn't show up through Windows Update, don't worry! You can go directly to Microsoft’s official website to download the Windows 11 Installation Assistant. Here's how:
- Visit the Windows 11 download page: Just Google “Windows 11 download” to get there.
- Get the Installation Assistant: You will see the section for the Installation Assistant. Download that puppy.
- Run it: Open the installer and it will guide you through the installation process to upgrade to 24H2.
If you want to go all out and maybe help a friend out later, you can also use a media creation tool to create a bootable USB drive:
- Download the Media Creation Tool from the same Windows 11 download page.
- Run it and select "Create installation media for another computer".
-Select your language, version, and architecture (mostly 64-bit). - +Then, follow the prompts to create the USB drive. You can boot from this drive on another computer, or perform a clean installation if desired.
