Sell you a broken Product; Charge you to fix it...

Fair enough. However, Mac OS isn't really relevant in my universe. Never used it, probably never will. And the onus here regarding Microsoft...IS on Microsoft. Quality seems to escape their formula these days. You remember the 80/20 rule, right? Today it's more like 40/60. As the developers are 'cheaping' their way through testing efforts. I can't begin to express how disgusted I feel toward them; because of the parade of their preventable errors, which I have to wade through to get anything done.
What you're calling out isn't just about Microsoft. It's about how software development has shifted across the industry—including on macOS. The "Zen of design" you mentioned, where process and aesthetics sometimes overshadow function, has absolutely influenced Apple as well. macOS has seen its share of feature bloat, hidden settings, and interface changes that prioritize visual polish over discoverability.

Fair enough; but for my purposes, Mac OS is entirely irrelevant to me, thus a moot point. I've never used it; Most likely never will.
