Screenshot app for windows 11 that works every time
Of course, that's a classic Windows annoyance. Here’s the fix:
You can absolutely fix this! The easiest solution is to change a single setting in Windows so PrtSc automatically saves a file to your Screenshots folder, just like you want.
Go to Settings > Accessibility > Keyboard.
Turn ON the toggle that says "Use the Print Screen key to open screen snipping."
Now, when you press PrtSc, it will open the Snipping Tool menu for you to select an area. That screenshot will then be automatically copied to your clipboard and saved to a file in your Pictures > Screenshots folder.
If you want a more powerful Greenfshot replacement, ShareeX is the best free program. It's incredibly powerful and lets you predefine exactly how you want to capture (region, window, etc.) and where to save it (like your Desktop folder). You can even set it to upload to imgur automatically.
