Rufus not detecting usb when creating a bootable Windows 11 drive
If Rufus not detecting the USB drive, try to repair the USB with Disk Management utility that comes with Windows OS.
It's a real headache when it comes to this situation, and here's how I solved it I'm here to help you.
We need to first press Windows + R, type 'diskmgmt.msc' and press Enter to check if the USB is showing up look like this In the Disk Management window, look at the list of disks below and look for your USB. If it shows Unassigned, there may be a problem with the USB.
What we need to do is repartition and format the USB Do this, right click on the unallocated area of the USB, select New Simple Volume, tap Next, set the volume size to default, tap Next, assign a drive letter (e.g. E:), tap
Next, select the file system as FAT32, tap 'Next' > 'Finish.'
After formatting is complete, verify the USB, turn on the computer, make sure the USB shows up as a removable disk, and finally go download the latest version of Rufus. After that, the Rufus not detecting USB drive problem should be fixed under this way.
The overall operation process is relatively simple, but you need to check manually during the process. For those who don't want to download additional tools, this is a better way to solve basic partitioning problems.
One thing to note, however, is that when dealing with the problem, users need to judge the problem for themselves, and it can't repair hardware damage, mainly for Rufus and other tools to prepare for the operating environment.
P.S. If this trick still does not work, then use a Rufus alternative instead, such as WinBoootMate or Media Creation Tool for creating Windows 11 bootable USB for install.
