Reset password on lenovo laptop windows 11 without losing data
You forgot lenovo laptop password, don't worry! The Command Prompt method uses Windows'own built-in tools to reset your local account password.
There are actually two different approaches within this method, both of which are documented by Microsoft and recognized as valid recovery paths.
The first approach involves booting into Safe Mode with Command Prompt, where Windows may give you access to the built-in Administrator account (which often has no password). From there, you can use the net user command to reset your password if you forgot lenovo laptop password.
The second approach—more advanced but also effective—involves replacing the Ease of Access tool (utilman.exe) with Command Prompt. When you click the Ease of Access icon on the login screen, Command Prompt opens instead, allowing you to reset your password from there.
Both methods rely on Windows' native command-line tools and the net user command, which is the standard Windows command for managing user accounts.
If your Lenovo laptop has BitLocker drive encryption enabled, these methods will not work. The search results explicitly warn that modifying system files or attempting password reset procedures on a BitLocker-encrypted drive can cause key loss and permanent data loss. If BitLocker is enabled, you will need your BitLocker recovery key to proceed with any password reset method.
