Nothing but trouble with my win11 upgrade from win10

I upgraded from window 10 in Oct 2025. Since that time I have had nothing but trouble. First of all, this computer is S-L-O-W to respond. The CPU light is on most of the time. I've lived with the problems but today after the latest update last night I just HAD to ask for help. Usually I just put the computer to sleep. When I started up this AM I I couldn't access the settings file. The internet was disconnected so I had to wait about 5 hours for the CPU light to go off before I could connect to the internet. I've been using computers since the 70's but the problems I'm having now are beyond my experience level. I hope someone here can steer me in the right direction.

  • Hi DZino, after a rough Windows 10 to 11 upgrade I would look first at Task Manager to see whether CPU, disk, or memory is pinned. Update chipset, storage, and graphics drivers from the PC maker, then run DISM and sfc /scannow. If the machine is still slow after that, an in-place repair install or clean install is often faster than chasing every upgrade leftover.
