Yes, I used to have many tables made with box characters, but now they don't work. Switching from regular to bold and back used to temporarily restore them, only for them to be broken again after I re-opened Notepad. With the new update that added Markdown though, even THAT doesn't work.
This really need fixing. If a font supports a character, then the character should be rendered accordingly.
