Never set a password for login for clean install but it asks me to change now?
I installed Windows 11 on a newly built pc a couple weeks ago. However, I didn't need a password to login before, and it's asking me to change my password now. The username displayed is "User". I’ve tried any combination of password I have used and it did not work
Any insights?

Haha, I ran into the exact same thing and felt so silly afterward. If the username just shows as "User" or "Admin" and you never set a password, then the trick is, don’t enter anything in the current password field. Just leave it blank, put in your new password and confirm it. That’s it. Voila, you're in!

Thank you so much! It drove me crazy that my pc suddenly asked to change password even though it's only the 2nd boot after fresh windows installation

I was having the same issue. I created a local user with admin privileges, and it allowed me to do a reset finally.

this happened to me once randomly on a boot, I just restarted again and it booted into windows normally, worth a shot.

Try resetting your password using the “I forgot my password” option on the login screen. This will guide you through steps to reset it, either via security questions or linked email/phone number if you set them up during setup.
