Net Desktop Runtime Problem

In the last week I tried to open Intel Driver & Support Assistant and got this message.

You must install .NET Desktop Runtime to run this program
Architecture: x86
App host version: 8.0.14

If you already have the Runtime installed, it might be corrupted or outdated. Reinstalling it can help.

  • You can install the latest .NET Desktop Runtime from Microsoft's website, or you can check for fixes to existing versions using dotnet --list-runtimes.

I get to this point every time on my very new Windows 11 PC with all of the latest updates.

Then it get's stuck. I've tried a fresh reboot followed by "Run as Administrator". Any clues on how to get .NET installed?
