Microsoft bricks Help features in MS-Office 2019? Seriously?
I just discovered this behavior today as well. The offline help even worked for Excel 2016 as of last week, but now, nothing. There must be a way to reconfigure Office to use local helpfiles. This does not help Microsoft's reputation as being greedy and without any respect for their loyal customers. If I had a choice, I would dump office today but I have too many useful programs and add-ons I have written for it. Believe it or not, there are still many users who either cannot access the internet due to security concerns or that just do not have any need to access the internet with Office. It is disappointing that Microsoft assumes people love to be forced into upgrading software that works perfectly fine for what they do. Promoting updated software is one thing, but disabling important elements of outdated software just to get people to upgrade (without ANY knowledge about how the software is being used) is extremely dishonest. I can think of hundreds of reasons why a computer might not have internet access but needs Excel or Word installed on it. Just one more way AI and Microsoft are making people hate their computers.
